I'm reading history and it got me thinking

It’s amazing that even in the globalized, connected world that we live in today, different parts of the world still are in such different situations. While I would define the U.S. and much of the western world as in a “Golden Age” because, while I don’t know the data exactly, I would bet that the quality of life and the freedom and rights here are the best EVER to exist, much of the developing world is not experiencing the abundance of knowledge and application of great ideas that we have the luxury of here. How is it in the age of the internet, a truly universal age where humankind is all interconnected, that everyone does not get to reap the benefits of the brilliance and luxury that exists? People are working on this, right?
